Sacred Marie Hicks

Sacred Marie Hicks

At the loss of a dear, sweet baby, Words cannot explain How much the heart is broken Or how unbearable is the pain. Why does God take little ones? I asked as I knelt to pray I felt His spirit telling me, They are too pure to stay. I had the warmest feeling That my baby is happy and waits Until we are together again Passed Heaven’s Golden Gates. Time will reunite us In not too many years. In Heaven, we’ll be together And joy will replace tears.

Our precious daughter, Sacred Marie Hicks, graced Heaven on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Sacred was born on November 15, 2013 in Johnson City, Tennessee. She is the daughter of Tiffany Snead Flannery and Jonathan “J.J.” Hicks of Greeneville. Some would think that a baby may not have success or accomplishment during their brief lifetime. The truth is, Sacred had many successes and accomplishments that some never find in a long lifetime on earth. She brought joy and happiness to everyone she touched. She brought a second wind to her parent’s lives. She was shown love and was told, “I love you”, an uncountable number of times.

In addition to her parents, Sacred is survived by her two big sisters: Skii and Sereniti Flannery; and her big brother, Christopher William Hicks, of Greeneville; maternal grandmother: Freda Brank of Greeneville; paternal grandparents: Jacky and Nikki Hicks, also of Greeneville; paternal great grandparents: Paul and Norma McKinney of West Virginia; very special aunts: Christina Marie Lester of West Virginia and Jessica Southerland of Greeneville; a very special great aunt: Mamie Bowens of Greeneville; two other great aunts: Debbie Roark and Teresa Mitchell; and several cousins.

Sacred was greeted in heaven by her paternal grandmother: Maria Denise Hicks; her maternal great grandparents: Henry and Sally Snead; two very special “uncles”: Christopher James Warren and Nicholas Paul Warren; and great aunt: Paula Sue Warren.

Even though you are gone away, I really don’t know what to say, but I’ll see you in heaven one day. All we can do is miss you and pray. Even though that life wasn’t long, you were so smart, beautiful, and strong. Even though that you’re gone, we know that your memory will live on. Your daddy loves you a lot and your momma does too. I know you’re in Heaven knowing we’re missing you. I’ll miss that smile and that touch of love and I’ll think about you every time I look above. I don’t know how to feel and I don’t know why, but I do know you are with Jesus up in the sky and I know you’re looking down and I know you can see me. We’re just gonna stay strong for Skii, Chris, and RiRi. So I lost my daughter, my heart, my friend. I have so much more to say, but this must come to an end. I’m gonna think about you until I see you again.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

Following visitation, the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 8pm with Rev. Danny Ricker and Rev. Chris Holmes officiating.

Interment will be 11am Tuesday, February 4, at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10am Tuesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charles Bowens, Richard Bowens, James McMahan, and Chris McKinney.
